7. Map View
To make sea chart visible on the map view, there are a couple options. The preferred method to get sea chart into the system is to use existing ENC chart data. In that case, the license permit key and chart data need to be delivered to Groke. Methods may vary depending on the chart vendor and it shall be discussed before the system delivery.
User can select whether he wants to take a look of the vector or raster version of the map from UI screen bottom bar (1).


The other option is to use only an overview chart. It only separates land and sea and does not offer details of the coastlines.


In the ENC chart the map layer filter button (2) allows to enable or disable some of the additional vector map layers. By default all the additional layers are disabled. Ground and water layers are always shown. These layers are available only on ENC charts, not on overview charts.
The map can be zoomed with a two-finger pinching gesture and panned with one finger gesture. The vector chart loads the area tiles near to current own vessel geolocation and the satellite imagery map can be freely panned to other locations.
